Weekend wandering in Fall Florals

This past weekend, I adventured to Washington, D.C. for a seriously event full Saturday. My best friend, who lives in Arlington, scored Opening Day tickets for the Smithsonian’s newest addition, the National Museum of African American History & Culture. The museum is phenomenal and very moving – I highly suggest visiting (and getting tickets to do so ASAP because I believe the NMAAHC is only taking ticketed guests until about, uh, January.)

Next up was DC’s Lipton Chef Fest at Canal Park (by the Navy Yards.) Put on by Lipton (think iced tea), and hosted by Chef Michael Symon and actor Ben Feldman, the event included draaanks made with Lipton Iced Tea and a sit-down dinner comprised of dishes that were featured in various cooking demos earlier in the night.

A weekend wouldn’t be complete without at least ONE cute outfit, and I was so excited to wear this dress, a recent acquisition, for the day’s adventures.

Dress: H&M (currently sold out) // Shoes: Old Navy (shop similar here) // Belt: J.Crew (shop similar here)

I fall in love with this season each year for many reasons, one of which being the clothes, styles, and colors that start to emerge when the temps get cooler. Sweaters and dresses donned in patterns including rich hues of brown, yellow, purple, red – among many others colors – fill the streets. Patterns like Fall florals. So, when I saw this dress at H&M, and could picture styling it 3+ ways with pieces ALREADY in my closet, I knew it was a keeper! Plus, florals in these gorgeous colors are the perfect pattern to transition you from Summer to Fall.

Share a pic of your Fall florals and hashtag it with #StylishlyTaylored so I can see how YOU style ’em!

Until next time, keep it stylish.
