City Cafe is one of my favorite spots in Baltimore; it’s my go-to restaurant when taking friends and family out to dinner because it caters to a wide variety of palates, dietary restrictions, and price ranges.
They label themselves as American restaurant serving comfort food with a twist – and I’d say that’s an accurate description of their menu selection. So, when friends visit me in Baltimore for the first time, I suggest heading to City Cafe for dinner.
If you’ve never been, City Cafe has two full-service bars in their space, offering everything from cocktails, craft beers, top-shelf liquor to bottled domestics and bottles of wine.
If you’re not in the game for a dinner cocktail, consider stopping into City Cafe for Happy Hour — it’s 4-7PM (until 8 PM on Friday) with $5 cocktails using Tito’s Vodka, Flor de Cana Rum, Old Forester Whiskey & Beefeater Gin; $5 featured wines and $4 draught beers!
Check out City Cafe’s selection of First Bites, great starters to a even greater meal. City Cafe’s Hot Crab Dip is on point — and a Baltimore staple (because it’s crab!) The ciabatta bites are the perfect compliment to this cheesy starter!
I often order sides as my dinner when I go to restaurants. They’re usually a good portion – and they tend to be less expensive, allowing you to sample a larger variety at a lesser cost. That being said, I ordered the Lobster Mac and Cheese (DEFINITELY recommend.) My friend ordered the evening’s special — which ended up being Seared sea bass with black truffle oil mashed potatoes, grilled asparagus, in a lobster sauce.
How many of you have been to City Cafe?! What did you think?
