I’m headed to the Tidal Basin this weekend to check out the 2017 Cherry Blossoms, but I’m a little nervous that the blossoms won’t be as abundant and well-timed as last year’s blooms.
Last year, I went to DC on a Saturday morning for monthly brunch with friends; I didn’t even realize that the exact day was peak bloom for the cherry blossoms. Visiting the Tidal Basin last year, with thousands of others, was one of the best (and most photogenic) experiences during my time in the DMV area.
So, I’m posting these pics from the 2016 cherry blossoms amidst my nostalgic mood. I’m interested to see how 2017 compares – but even if the blooms aren’t synchronized in their blooming, the National Mall and collection of monuments is a breath-taking are breathtaking views even without the delicate, pretty pink flowers.
Have you been down to D.C. during peek bloom? How did you like it? What was your favorite part? Let me know by commenting on this post.
