In recent months, I’ve taken notice (more than usual) of the eclectic mix of rugged, street, boho, chic, and glam aesthetics that comprise my outfit choices. I have many pieces that, when standing alone, can be binned into one of the aforementioned categories. But as I’ve said before, personal style often spans (and should not be limited to) isolated identifiers. Life is constantly changing, we are constantly adapting, and your wardrobe, in its purest form, is a real-time reflection of that evolution. Hitting ya with some serious personal style philosophy in this post, eh?

I think that is why, aside from sizing limitations and availability, I can walk into any store and find a piece of clothing, pair of shoes, or an accessory that speaks to me.  A lot of pieces contain either a shape, color, patterning, fabric, etc that intrigues me – and that makes me feel something. So, one Saturday afternoon, when I walked into Urban Outfitters, I wasn’t anticipating purchasing anything; but that quickly changed once I came across this awesome pair of GUESS B&W overalls (always how it goes right??)

I had been eyeing up some pairs of denim overalls – Madewell, Levi’s, etc – but none of them felt unique enough for me to pull the trigger…until these B&W walked into my life.

The color-blocking has a 1960s/1970s feel to it (you all should know I love some vintage feels to my outfits), but the black + white denim felt very ‘street style” chic. They were also on sale, so I tried on them on – and decided to buy them when I confirmed that they fit my short frame (yet again, let me repeat: jumpsuits are not only for tall people!)

I debated on how I could style the overalls – since the colors are relatively neutral, but the color-blocking pattern is asymmetrical, I figured it would work well with other neutrals. I debated pairing it with a plain black shirt, but that felt too safe.

Nothing of color or pattern spoke to me, so I went in the middle and paired it with another B+W item, my new ‘Good Vibes + Coffee’ graphic tshirt from MamaBirdAndCo! I accessorized with a gold necklace from H&M (similar linked above), lace-up heels from Forever21 (similar linked above), threw on a Rich Red lip, and called it a look!

    Taylor!
I love this look and very much drooling over these overalls. I am even more in love with the journey that you create with your words that transports me to being right there with you. Its a written chatty GRWM, that is executed with such a great mix of person-ability (may have made that word up lol) and insight. Thanks for sharing! Can’t wait to read more!
