What better way to celebrate National Coffee Day (or any of the other 364 days of the year) than with a good cup of coffee? Whether you take yours hot or iced, I think we can agree that most coffee tastes better outside of the office. If you work in Downtown Baltimore, I would bet that you’ve ventured to the closest chain coffeeshop when you need a caffeine fix or a break from the office routine. Let’s be real, you probably need both.
Whether you’re looking to meet a client for coffee or need a cup before diving head first into the work day, consider one of these 5 hidden cafe-gems when you need a cup! There are a handful of chains Downtown; and although I admit they’re appealing for convenience’s sake, I’m still an advocate for switching it up to support smaller businesses. Because life’s too short to drink the same mediocre coffee everyday just because it’s close to your office.
- Cafe at Hotel RL Baltimore Inner Harbor
- Vent Coffee Roasters, inside Argosy Cafe
- LB Bakery inside the Lord Baltimore Hotel
- Cafe at Delta Hotels by Marriott Baltimore Inner Harbor
- David and Dad’s Cafe
Now, some of the spots I listed are coffee shops inside (or associated with) hotels, but they are offer surprisingly good coffee for guests AND are all open to the public! The cafe at Hotel RL Baltimore serves coffee from Victrola Coffee Roasters, a Seattle-based Roastery providing all Hotel RL locations with delicious coffee options. The cafe at Delta Hotels on Historic Charles Street serves up Zeke’s Coffee, a hometown favorite and a must-try if you’re visiting Baltimore! LB Bakery is a part of the Lord Baltimore Hotel, and not only provides guests with a caffeination-station, but some seriously stunning French-pastries (what goes better with coffee than some sugar?)
Have you grabbed coffee from any of these spots? Or have another local spot to grab coffee to break up your work day? Let me know in the comments below!
