Baltimore Coffeeshop Guide

Let’s state an obvious fact: I love coffee. This post should really come as no surprise to those of you who follow me on Instagram.  I don’t have a car in the city, but I think I may pay the equivalent of a car payment in coffee each month; but I’m cool with it. I do love coffee. I’ve learned from friends over at Vent Coffee Roasters that brewing is truly a science (nerd moment.) However, for me, it’s bigger than just the coffee. Good coffee is important, but I’m also a big advocate for the coffeeshop experience.

To me, there’s something really serene about sipping on a latte, listening to music, and working on my computer while surrounded with people doing the same. Maybe the academic in me, but I thrive in an environment that encourages productivity. For some, that’s a home office. For me, it’s a coffeeshop.

Perhaps that’s why I chose to live in Mount Vernon, one of the most densely populated areas in regard to coffeeshops and cafes. You can usually find me working at Dooby’s or Baby’s on Fire; but coffeeshop hopping is so accessible in this area because the shops are within walking distance of one another. Ceremony Coffee is another local chain that has a spot in my heart, so much so I’ve published posts centered around both their Mount Vernon and Harbor Point locations!

So, I created a comprehensive map for my fellow coffee-lovers, people-watchers, and work-a-holics! When I first moved to Baltimore, I went out of my way to explore the city in search of things that bring me comfort (coffee shops, local boutiques, authentic restaurants), and I thought it was only fair to give back to others who are looking to do the same.

I will take the liberty of updating the map to reflect new spots and retired ones and do my best to keep it as up to date as possible; my hope this map will both encourage you to explore your city, as well as, give you some local businesses to support your neighborhood, city, and coffee habit! Enjoy.

Until next time, cheers!
